College Life... Here I Come... Again...

I'm officially a student again because I'm taking my Degree in Mass Communication in University College Sedaya International and in short, it's called UCSI. It's located in Connaught, Cheras where you can see a very long pasar malam (night market) to be held there every Wednesday. My classes will commence by next Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008. Wish me luck.

I went for the orientation yesterday (Thursday) morning and the whole thing was pretty boring. I did not join their ice breaking game and just sat there looking around. I was not the only one, most of them did the same because it was a waste of time. Then like any other orientations, long speeches were given by the Dean and staffs, and instead of a 5 minutes break as they had written in the time table, some DIGI promoters took the time to promote some new packages that allow students to make call for free within the campus area. Some speech about safety were given and after that, another speech about rules and regulations were to be conducted, and luckily they have some technical problem with their microphones and I took that chance to walk out of the hall and all eyes were on me. I'd already know what they wanted to mention because it was all written in the Student Guidebook. I'd read all of them while waiting for the orientation to start. They were just repeating the notes in the book but briefly of course, but, still not very short briefs. After walking out of the hall, I called Kid (Wee Kuan) and we had lunch before going back to his place and take our afternoon nap. I slept at his place the night before and for two nights. Thanks a lot to Kid for keeping me, so that I wouldn't have to rush for the boring and meaningless orientation from Seremban. Thanks again and sorry if I had given you any troubles or inconvenience.
And of course, while staying at Kid's place, I did took some photos of his cute pet Chipmunks. they are very adorable. Below are the photos. Enjoy.

[Curling up while they sleep... Cute...]

[From upper view... look like buns... Haha...]

On the first night of my stay, Kid's friend, Jacquelyn and her boyfriend brought us to supper and we had steamboat. Not really much of food but did really enjoy chatting with them and their dog, Belle is very cute too. Yup, they brought Belle along to supper. Both of them had to look after Belle because she barks whenever she saw stray dogs or cats and her voice was really loud. But apart of that, she is still cute. Too bad I didn't take any picture of the dog. Then the second night, that is the night after my orientation, another friend of Kid, Fye brought us to supper and it was around 2 or 3am. I had this Mixed Fruit Ice Sago and it was kinda huge. It was definitely yummy. Below are the photos.

Just look at the height of it with all the fruits around it. Yummy. It was delicious and not too sweet, just the way I like it. Kid and Fye had Mango Ice Sago, and of course theirs have only mago and nothing else. But still its very fulfilling. Just look at those slices of mango. Haha. I forgot what is the name of the restaurant but it opened at midnight for midnight workers and it's located somewhere near Shamelin Perkasa, Cheras.

Kid and me tried to cook on Thursday morning for breakfast before I go for orientation. I boiled rice and he reheated a pack of curry where he bought from 100 Yen shop the night before. Well, it doent really taste that good but at least we did not go to college on empty stomach and I could manage to survive from that dreadful orientation. Then, this evening, Kid brought me to a very nice western restaurant. It was called Golden Bridge. The food there are really exquisite and simply delicious. Especially my Bolognaise with Ham and Chicken in Cheddar Cheese. The spaghetti wasn't too sour and it blends in nicely with the taste of cheddar cheese. It's just a few doors away from 100 yen shop in Connaught. You guys should really go and try it out.

After the exquisite dinner, we went to look around again in 100 Yen shop because Kid wanted to buy some household appliances. Then, we went straight back to his place. The moment we open the door, we were amazed by the color of the sky and the color of the light the sun shone in through the kitchen window. It was orangy because the sun was about set. Kid wanted to take a photo of it so much and below is the result of the photo.

[Kid's idea of holding the rice cooker... =.=]

Well, I'm kinda speechless now. I really had some enjoyable times this week. Thanks to everyone. Till we meet again. Adios. ^^

Miss my DELL Monitor...

A large convocation were held in the main hall of UKM Bangi Campus last two Sunday (10th August 2008) and the whole place were crowded with people and we could hardly find a parking space for our car. We were there because my sister, Aw Siew Yee was one of the hundreds or maybe thousands of graduating students. The whole convocation took 5 days, 9th to 13th of August 2008. Imagine how many students were graduating. I was wondering whether all of them could find a job, since I had already remain jobless for a year. Well, lets get back to the topic. The whole thing ended around 5pm, and we took some photos with my sister. My 2nd and 3rd uncle and their families were there too. Below are the photos.
My family.
Us with my 3rd uncle and his family.
Us with my 2nd uncle and his family (except for Adrian, the kid in green shirt)

Last Thursday, 14th of August, the great gate of Hell were opened and if you're lucky, you might get to see all or some of the wandering souls from hell. Yes, the yearly Hungry Ghost Festival is here. I'm sure chinese from all over the world is celebrating this. I'm not sure whether celebrating would be the right word but it's a festival and I didn't know what other word to replace it. My family was not exceptional. I don't think I'll have to explain what is Hungry Ghost Festival because I believe everyone knows it. Below are some photos I took when we were at Port Dickson, my uncle's house to 'celebrate'. We do the same thing every year.

Lighting up the candles.
The food for offerings.
Praying with joss sticks.
The hell money or notes and cloths to be burnt.
Started to pollute the air and my mum scattering food to the streets.
My dad poking around with stick to see if everything were burnt to ashes.

I kept on wondering who started this yearly tradition and do all the souls really get the things we burnt. If not, then, what is the point of burning. Global warming is kinda serious nowadays and we still have to burn all these and also helping in air pollution. Like I have said before in my Friendster blog, it's a cyber age now, and why can't they make a software to send or deliver those things to hell or heaven so that we could help save the world.

A very sad thing happened (again) to me. My 17 inch DELL Flat LCD screen monitor just broke down last night and I was wondering what am I gonna do without the monitor. It's like I totally lost connection with the outer world because the Internet connects the whole world. So, I couldn't do anything without the monitor. All I have to do now is wait for it to be fixed. Sometimes I really hate my parents. I told them to take the monitor to be checked or at least ask someone to come and have a look when we noticed some minor problems. The monitor blacked out automatically and started to flick. Now, it had totally black out and not flicking and totally gone dead. After this happened only my parents started to really look at it seriously. Parents nowadays... ish... No wonder there are so many teenagers wanted to run away from home nowadays. This evening, my mum brought back an old, heavy and bulky IBM monitor from her company with a printed sticker written 'STAFF ONLY' on it. The screen is small and looking at it for too long will make my eyes blur. It's really difficult to edit some of my photos because the color wasn't really right. Really miss my DELL monitor although it's just one day. You can see the comparisons in the photos below.

My lovely Flat LCD DELL Monitor on the floor waiting to be taken to repair.

The ugly, heavy and bulky old monitor which doesn't suits my DELL Sets.

That's all I got to say now. The Hungry Ghost Festival is still going on. So, don't go out late at night. Who knows you might get really lucky to bump into some of them. And really hope my monitor will be OK soon. Tata.

A Disastrous Week...

Firstly, I would like to apologize to Casper for making your Seremban trip a sad and disastrous one. I also feel sorry for the lost of your beloved grandmother. I didn't expect so much unhappy things would happen during your stay here. Hope you'll forgive me.

Well, there's too much issues happened this week within my friends and me, and I could barely take it all, but, I am still trying to stand strong and settle them. It's inconvenient for me to say everything here. Well, at least there are still some happy memories in between the sadness. We celebrated Kenny's 21st Birthday, went to karaoke in Greenbox, helped Kah Wai doing his assignments, went shopping and eat delicious foods. Let the photos do the talking this time.
The cake we bought for Kenny. American Chocolate.

Kenny blowing off the candles after making his wish(es).

Birthday boy cutting his cake.

Our all time favourite activity, camwhoring.

Casper and Xiao Fen.
Kenny singing to Ayumi's song.
Casper enjoying his noodles in Old Town.
Camwhored a bit while waiting for our food.
Me with my phone in Old Town.

After we finish our karaoke session on Monday, we went to Old Town to have our lunch. Casper was supposed to go back to Singapore on that day evening by 5pm, so, we came back to my place to let him pack his belongings. But, not long after we stepped into the house, Casper received a message and he called back to Penang. I saw his face changed and did not say anything while holding back his tears after hanging up the phone. Then, suddenly he started to cry. Kenny and me asked what happened and his reply was his grandmother just passed away. I felt really shocked and sad looking at him crying while I couldn't do anything but to pass tissues to him. So, he didn't go back to Singapore that evening and we took him to buy a ticket to go back to Penang the next night after dinner.

On Wednesday, Kenny went back to Klang while I go to UCSI to settle my registration because I will be taking my Degree in Mass Communication there. And at night, I went to see their Choir Concert by the music students there and Wee Kuan were one of the students. He invited me the day before, and since I had nothing to do, I stayed and watch. It was really good. That really showed us how music can lift up our souls. It was free but worth watching. But, what I really hate was the flashlights of cameras from the audience. It's OK to take pictures but they should really turn off the flash because they were very distracting. Some were leaving their handphones on too. That's really rude and also disrespect to the Choir and other audience. Below are some of the photos I took (with Flashlight off) during the concert.

I'm done for now. Will try to have a happy and better post next time. And Casper, if you're reading this, I hope you don't get sad. Writing in my blog is a way for me to relieve and express myself. I wish you are feeling better by now. I know I did a bad job as your tour guide and your trip to Seremban was supposed to be a happy one, but, it all turned up totally the opposite way. Sorry to you again.

Alright. Regards from me to all of you and I'm out of here for now. Bye...

Goodbye, SEGi College...

Yesterday morning, Wednesday, 30th of July 2008, as I was beginning to indulge in the warmth and comfiness of my comforter, my bed and my pillow, I turned to the other side of my bed. I slowly opened my eyes and I could see the sun shone brightly through my curtains. My eyes were still heavy because I slept around 6am in the morning. With blurry vision, I stretch my hand over to the cabinet next to my bed, and my fingers feel and searched for my handphone while my head was still laying softly on the pillow. After I grabbed hold of my phone, I brought it near to my eyes and looked for the time. WHAT THE F***!!! It's already 10.30am, and I should be on the bus to KL. I quickly jumped out of bed, from sleepy mode to total awake mode and sent a message to Sora to tell him I will be late for another hour. We had planned to go back to SEGi College in Subang Jaya the day before to take our documents. Then, I started to get ready and while brushing my teeth, I was thinking of what to wear. I went over to my wardrobe after my shower and choose on what I should wear. While flipping through them, I was mumbling to myself, "should I wear this? Hmm... No... Then this? Nope. This won't do". Suddenly, my consciousness stomped into my head and said, "For crying out loud... Can't you just simply pick one. We're running out of time". Therefore, I picked my favourite white t-shirt that I bought in Singapore's Giordano with a cute little glittering fire cartoon on it written 'I'm On Fire' with a dark blue jeans and a sleeveless black vest. After my costume trouble had been settled, I immediately strolled over for my Gatsby Styling Rubber and started to style my hair and with a final touch, set them on hold with Gatsby Wax Spray. Luckily I'd packed up the things I needed the night before and I am ready to go.

After calling the taxi station, I went out to put on my shoes after locking the doors and right after my shoes were on, the taxi arrived. Within minutes, I was at the bus station, and I quickly jumped into the bus. The journey took only 50 minutes and I waited for Sora at Kota Raya, KL. Not long after, he arrived and we took the bus to Subang. Luckily, we could still make it to have lunch with Alex, a friend of us who is now working in Menara Summit. We went to a new place in Summit Shopping Centre called 'The Penang Asam House' to have our lunch, and I ordered a Vietnam Chicken Rice and Fresh Apple Juice. The food was not bad but the apple juice was very near to tasteless. They added too much water. The prices there are... I wouldn't say cheap but rather say reasonable. We did have a lot of nice and funny conversations with Alex and we really did enjoy the time being with him. He's such a friendly and adorable young man with good manners.

After lunch, Alex had to head back to the office, and Sora and me went straight to SEGi and asked about our documents. Sora did get his but Ms.Kathy asked me to go straight to Mr.Roslan, the head of Faculty of Creative Arts and Design and we called it shortly as FOCAD. When we looked for him, the receptionist in the office told us that Mr.Roslan was having a heavy schedule and was not free to see me. I headed back up to Ms.Kathy and she said she'd try to inform Mr.Roslan for me. Thanks to Ms.Kathy, I already got the documents I needed today. Mr.Roslan sent them to my e-mail. After all that running up and down, I went to look around the place where we (the performing art students) had most of our lessons. The Blackbox. It was kinda empty now. I really missed that place a lot. It reminds me of my coursemates, such as Gabe, Angel, Yee Siang, Kuyet, Zul, Ice, and Terri. We had our ups and downs together, the crazy things we did there, our productions that were done and held there and loads more. Now, they have become one of my sweetest memory. Not only that, the lecturers that brought us up like Mr.Anderson, Ms.Leong, Mr.Tan and Mr.Heng. We learned a lot from them not only about theatre, but also life. While I was about to stepped out of the Blackbox, I looked around for one last time because I know I might not be able to come here again. As I stepped out from there, I looked at the notice board of Performing Arts, and I was so happy to see that our poster was still on it. We had so many posters and notices when we were around, and now it's empty but our poster is still on it. I clearly remember that poster was made by Gabe.

Our poster on the notice board.

Me and Sora stroll around for a few more moments and we walked through one classroom to another. And then, I saw Mr.Daniel Loy having a lecture in a classroom. He is one of the best lecturer in SEGi. I had only one subject under him before but he is indeed a very nice lecturer. I took this outside of the classroom. We could see them outside but they couldn't see us from the inside.

Mr.Daniel is giving lecture. Hush hush....

I had a few subjects taken in this room before. Room 7.1.

I also took a picture of the Gallery where they display the artworks of students. We once used the Gallery for Gabe's final and also her performance. I'd posted about that before in my Friendster Blog. But. I'll just mention it again here. There are two floors for FOCAD, so there are two galleries. They are at 6th and 7th floor. Below is a picture of the gallery at 7th floor.

The Gallery at 7th Floor.

Gabe once turned the Gallery into her stage.

Gabe's performance at the Gallery.

After wandering around the college, we took a bus back to Kota Raya. I went to look for a hairspray that my friend had ask me to buy for him at S&M Plaza. I saw one shop that sell everything about haircare and you could just find any brand or product you want from there. After searching for a while, I finally found it. It stated there RM 13 on the price sticker and I asked the sales girl for discount. I just couldn't believe the price she blurted out from her mouth. She said straigtaway, RM 6. I looked blankly at her for a few seconds with wide eyes before I said OK. Then I took two of them and paid RM 12 for two hairsprays. The hairsprays' brand is called Aromatic. I've seen a lot of hairstylist or not using them before and they said it's very strong and could keep ur hair for a day. Well, maybe someday I should try it. Below is a picture of the Aromatic hairsprays and my Gatsby Wax Spray (RM 15.90) so that you guys can make comparison to the size (and price).

Finally, after getting the hairsprays for such a reasonable price, me and Sora had to say goodbye to each other and go home on separate ways. Once I reached Seremban, I went up to Popular in Terminal 1 to loiter for a while. Guess what? I was searching around the Anime Section and I found something great. It's Detective Conan's Part 1 & 2 DVDs, all 1 to 51 episodes with just only RM 29.90. I was kinda devastated lately due to the low Streamyx connection. I couldn't watch anime online, and had to wait for like ages for a website to load, and I had some problem updating about this post too. So, I was thinking, What the Heck? Just buy it, and I bought it. The original price was RM 49.90, and I got it for only RM 29.90. Sounds like I'm a cheap shopper. Well, I am NOT. Haha. Below is a picture of Detective Conan DVD Box Set.

Phew... Finally, I've finish blurting out what I wanted to say. This is a really long post. Hope you guys enjoyed it and thanks for reading. (^.^)
